Kim Kardashian Sues Engagement Proposal Video Leaker

The larger than life reality star Kim Kardashian does everything big, so it was only to be expected than she would get a proposal by boyfriend Kanye West in a stadium. It also is to be expected that this was a made for television proposal. So when Youtube co-founder Chad Hurley recorded the affair taken place at AT&T Park in San Francisco for his newest internet venture MixBit, Kim and Kanye wasted no time contacting lawyer Eric George.

Kimye claim that Hurley wasn’t supposed to be at the event but after manipulating a way in, was asked to sign a confidentiality agreement and have his picture taken with it to ensure no leaks occur. Despite legal evidence against his favor, Hurley couldn’t resist getting the footage.

Hurley Confidentiality Agreement

“Hurley proceeded to try to turn the event into one starring himself, broadcasting the images he knew were the exclusive property rights of someone else.”

He is being sued with unspecified damages including punitives and is described as a failed entrepreneur leaking the video “out of desperation.” They claim that he was trying to save the venture following a lackluster launch. The video was intended for MC Cable Television, which is a parent company of E! which airs Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

“Undeterred by the contractual restrictions to which he had just agreed, Hurley opted to exploit and capitalize upon the extreme public interest he knew would attach to the event, in order to boost the fortunes or his underperforming business venture,” the suit said.

Hurley has yet to remove the video which has been viewed nearly 2 million times. Let’s hope he is lawyered up for the big one.
