Desperate Housewives Africa Series is Currently in Production

The American comedian-drama-mystery series Desperate Housewives whose 8 seasons spawned into a Bravo network reality tv franchise is being recreated by Nigeria’s EbonyLife TV and Disney to be called Desperate Housewives Africa.

The show is said to have “an African soul” and will be filmed in a gated community within the luxurious Lekki suburb in Lagos, Nigeria’s bustling economic hub.  Prior to this show’s taping was the drama series Lekki Housewives which debuted earlier this year.

Disney Media Distribution EMEA says Desperate Housewives Africa offers  ”the opportunity to engage African audiences through locally relevant and entertaining storytelling.” Other versions of the original series have been produced in Turkey, Argentina, Brazil and the United States in Spanish.
