Rapper and business mogul Jay-Z has announced that he will be releasing his first men’s fragrance GOLD JAY-Z November 20th at Braney’s New York as a part of his collaboraton with the store. After that the fragrance will be sold in 2,000 department stores including Nordstrom, Dillard’s, Macy’s, Sephora, Belk, Bon-Ton, Ulta and more ranging from $39 to $70.
Jay-Z partnered with Firmenich perfumer Ilias Ermenidis, who has worked with Oscar de la Renta, and Givenchy and has been very excited and impressed with their creation. “I was impressed with JAY Z’s style and confidence and was drawn to the ease with which he carries himself and all of his success,” says Ilias Ermenidis in a press release announcing the launch.
“He has a natural cool that people want a piece of. In developing GOLD JAY Z, I wanted to capture both the vibrant ambitious part of JAY Z’s charismatic persona and his effortless style that he naturally embodies through a fusion of notes chosen by JAY Z.”
Since Jay-Z is set to make a high profiled launch of his fragrance at Barney’s New York it is clear that he is unphased by the company’s recent allegations of racism. He has been intensely probed to make a statement about the store but has only said he is currently waiting on the “facts” before coming to any conclusions.
